About

Belize is a small country in Central America, and it does not have cities that qualify as million-plus population centers or large aviation hubs similar to those found in larger countries.

Belize City is the largest city and was the former capital. It serves as a commercial center and the main port. However, its population is far below a million people, and it is known for its colonial architecture and proximity to key attractions, including the Belize Barrier Reef.

The current capital, Belmopan, is a smaller city and government hub. It was established as the capital in 1970 following a hurricane that devastated Belize City.

The Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport, located near Belize City, is the primary airport offering international flights and serving as the main gateway for travelers entering and exiting Belize. It connects Belize to various destinations in North America and the region.

These locations are pivotal for Belize's connectivity and administration, even if they do not fit the standard criteria of major urban or airport hubs by global standards.
